Cloud Translations was an interactive website which used the “excess” data of Google Streetview to generate concrete poetry. Casting the camera directly upwards at the sky at any point on a global map, Cloud Translations used optical character recognition to analyze the clouds, wires, trees, and birds and return them as textual characters.

Following restrictive changes to the Streetview API in 2022, Cloud Translations no longer runs.
